Event Description The 65th Western Regional Science Fantasy Conference, covering books, movies, anime, gaming, costuming, and more!

Our theme for 2012 will be "A step out of time."

Event Type Conventions - The Entire Convention
Main Events:
Masquerade (formal costume contest)
Panels (industry, fan, and general interest)
Gaming
Art show (primarily pro artists)
Parties and filking (music) every night

Panel Programming:
Westercon traditionally has several tracks of panels and workshops, covering anything sf fans are interested in-- which includes panels on fan activities, industry, science, technology, history, and pretty much everything else.
Costume Events:
The Masquerade is a formal contest with a stage and the opportunity to perform skits. There is usually also judging of hall costumes as well.
Gaming Events:
Typically includes LARPs, Eurogames, card games, RPGs-- whatever people volunteer to run.
Musical Events:
TBA, likely to include performances, open filking, and a workshop or two on technique.
Autograph Sessions:
Not just the guests, but many other visiting creators will have autograph sessions.
Other Events:
In keeping with the theme, the convention will begin with Closing Cermonies and end with Opening Ceremonies.
